LIBRARIES
The library of Karamay Campus of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), located on the Red Mountain Lake in Karamay University Town, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, consists of one underground floor and six floors above ground, covering a building area of 49,600 square meters. It is an elegant (diamond-shaped) information service center with advanced design concepts and modernized and intelligent information infrastructure.The library provides borrowing services in the mode of "open shelves, full circulation, and self-service." There are 11 reading areas in the library. The first floor is for postgraduate study rooms and electronic reading rooms, while the second floor features reading areas for oil and gas energy, computer information technology, and periodicals. The third floor houses the social science book collection, and the fourth floor is for the natural science book collection. The fifth floor is temporarily designated as a self-study area, and the sixth floor is reserved for future development.The library currently offers over 2,800 reading seats, 18 study rooms for readers, four large conference rooms, four activity rooms, six expert studios, 12 silent cabins, and one reading pavilion, striving to meet the needs of readers for personalized learning and research environments. It has also established a RFID self-service borrowing system, a self-service printing system, a self-service seating system, and a self-service reservation system for discussion rooms, providing readers with self-service options. Additionally, the "Lakeside Reading Bar" has been established to provide a casual and salon-style reading space for readers.
