The Department of Machinery and Process has three majors: mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, process equipment and control engineering, and new energy science and engineering. There are 33 teachers, including 7 professors, 13 associate professors, 1 senior engineer, 8 lecturers and 4 experimenters.Major in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and AutomationThere are currently 21 teachers in mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, including 7 professors, 7 associate professors, 1 lecturer, 1 teaching assistant, 2 postdoctoral and 3 experimenters.Undergraduate enrollment began in 2016, and international students and graduate students were launched in 2017 and 2018 respectively.The major of mechanical design and manufacturing and its automation is the traditional backbone major of our school. It is an interdisciplinary major based on mechanical design and manufacturing and integrating automatic control technology.This major adheres to the combination of electromechanical and highlights the characteristics of petroleum. In 2007, it was awarded the school-level brand major. In 2008 and 2009, it won the national and Beijing characteristic professional construction sites respectively. Since 2010, it has become a pilot major of the Excellent Engineer Training Program of the Ministry of Education. In 2021, it was approved as a first-class undergraduate major in the autonomous region.Major in Process Equipment and Control EngineeringThe process equipment and control engineering major currently has 13 teachers, including 1 professor, 6 associate professors, 1 senior engineer, 3 lecturers and 1 experimenter.The discipline research mainly focuses on scientific and technical issues in the field of petrochemical equipment, and has distinct petrochemical characteristics. It has mastered a number of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights in the direction of multi-phase separation theory and technology, process equipment and engineering, and has achieved a number of international advanced and domestic leading scientific research achievements.Major in New Energy Science and EngineeringThe school adheres to a high starting point, high level and high standard construction of new energy science and engineering majors. The new energy science and engineering major of Karamay Campus mainly studies natural science, applied science and engineering related issues in the development, transformation, storage and application process of new energy such as hydrogen energy, solar energy and wind energy. The major is oriented to the new energy industry.
