To promote the construction and development of courses in the research direction of regional and national studies in English majors at the campus, and to build a platform for mutual exchange between Chinese and foreign students, on November 21, the Language and Art Department of the School of Arts and Sciences organized English major students to participate online in the "International Week" series of student lectures hosted by the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged in Hungary. Despite the seven-hour time difference between Hungary and China, the students overcame the difficulty of time difference and participated in the lecture activities online during their rest time after evening self-study. They actively interacted with the teachers and students on site at the University of Szeged and asked them some questions about Chinese culture.
Ma Wenchao, a teacher from the Language and Art Department of the School of Arts and Sciences who was sent to the University of Szeged in Hungary as a visiting scholar, was invited to participate in the "International Week" series of academic lectures hosted by the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged. He delivered an academic report titled "An Overview of China-Hungary Relations and a Survey of Xinjiang". The report content was divided into two parts: "Overview of China-Hungary Relations" and "Survey of Xinjiang". It not only sorted out the development process of the good relationship between China and Hungary after the founding of New China, but also introduced the basic situation and development status of Xinjiang in the new era to international teachers and students. It vividly demonstrated the realistic portrayal of social development and people's happy life in Xinjiang today, which was widely praised by teachers and students at the University of Szeged.
