Welcome to Another World, another wonder.

Today, I would like to share with you a fantastic theme--My first holiday during university.

Leaving my hometown for half a year, l don't know how much it has changed. I miss the dreamy fields, its flowers, grass and trees. There is no cold winter like Karamay, but the sweet warmth of my family. My home, I am back from my first holiday. Will you welcome me？

So, what is Chinese winter vacation without Spring Festival, and because of that its important we stay here:

The Spring Festival falls on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, which is usually a month later than the Gregorian calendar. It originated in the Shang Dynasty from the people's and ancestors diet sacrifices at the end of an old era and the beginning of a new one. Strictly speaking, the Spring Festival starts in the early days of the 12th lunar month and will last till the middle of the 1st lunar month next year. So the most important days of this holiday are the Eve of Spring Festival and the first three days. 

The Spring Festival is the most important festival for Chinese people. People usually decorate the doors and windows with red paper cuts, because red means good luck in China. Also, they usually clean their house to sweep away all bad omens. Children can get some new clothes or presents from their parents and grandparents. Of course, they don't forget, the traditional Chinese red packets; essentially money. lt is the most precious time when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. All people living away from home go back. Airports, railway stations and long-distance bus stations are crowded with home returnees. So it is also the busiest time for transportation systems. 

People attach great importance to Spring Festival Eve. At that time, all family members eat dinner together. The meal is more luxurious than usual. Dishes such as chicken, fish and bean curd cannot be excluded, which reflect the auspiciousness, abundance and richness in Chinese traditional culture. After dinner, the whole family will sit together, chatting and watching the Spring Festival party broadcast on China Central Television (CCTV), and according to the custom, every family will stay up to see the New Year in.

On New Year's Day, people usually put on their new clothes and visit their family and friends. They usually say Happy New Year's Day to each other. The Spring Festival finishes with the Lantern Festival after two weeks. People usually eat a kind of rice dumpling called yuanxiao. It can give people good luck all year round.

A new year means a new start. When the door of the New Year opens, I have to think about my plan next year. Just as a saying goes: “Well beginning is half of the success.” I need a good start to arrive at the destination I dream of. Maybe in your opinion, university is long and we only passed the first hurdle. But time flies, we still have too many things we need to deal with. We can't do anything but work hard. So, let's go, we can do this, I will do my best to live up to what I have planned. And I believe that the result will prove my determination.
